I understand it might be hard to find an opponent for a one and done next year. I would love to see "bigger" out of conference games in the future. It is better for the program.
I understand your point. I think the players that are headed to the NFL need to get used to large differences in salary. I am not an expert on NFL salaries but my guess is that a franchise QB makes significantly more than a free safety, and definitely more than the long snapper.
I wonder if we will have a legitimate chance of pulling some of the guys in the 2026 class back in the portal next year. If VA Tech struggles and we do well, there might be opportunities.
I would never thought an auction but that is an interesting idea. Like other auctions a reserve could be set.
However, it is very creepy to me to be auctioning a person's commitment to play for a team.
