AP top 25

Interesting AP today. Several have us ranked #1 but I don't see how we can justify that ranking. Several have us out of the top five. The worst ranking, 9, is from the Cleveland newspaper's college football guy. Of course, this is all meaningless with the playoffs. All will be revealed when we play Oregon in two weeks.

No team has earned #1 at this point. Nothing to go on. OSU over TX? UO over the Pokes?
Also, if the voters are further identified by conference and region, then the stats will reflect the bias. For example, look at Kirk Bohls' (Houston Chonicle & formerly Austin Am Statesman) selections.
Anyone from a former confederate state will vote like they are Paul Finebaum. Most anyone from the upper Midwest will favor legacy big10 teams. It is what it is.
As long as the top six to eight teams in the 12-team playoff are reasonably ranked, then I guess it doesn't matter anyway.

I have to say that both Oregon and tOSU have looked pretty good against weak competition. tOSU may have beaten a TX team that is being led by the greatest Heisman front runner fraud since Johnny Manziel. Really, not a lot of conclusions to be drawn yet.
