Running game and Oline looked great. Gonna miss those guys in the backfield when they leave. They’re so good

New wideouts looked good. Really liked Pena. Allar looked good and we pushed the ball upfield a few times.

Thought DDS looked great. Defense very good. These 3 games give us time to get reps in Knowles defense.

Specials good too. Like King Mack returning kicks.

Other Thoughts?

Gilliam looked good to go with Durant at DT. Didn't see Ford play, probably didn't. Anyone have a view of some of the play of the other backup DT's?

Same with Harvey at DE, as he looks strong. Saw Coleman who looked athletic but seemed to get pushed around and I didn't see him make any plays.

Campbell looks pretty small but keeps after it and makes tackles.

Grunk looked pretty sharp. Really throws a nice ball, and threw some nice balls under pressure that the backup RB's seemed to make hard catches look easy and turned into nice gains.

Wallace and Smith both looked good running the ball, and catch the ball well. Once the 2nd backup played I was surprised Martin didn't get in.

My complaint is that we have a wr at starting RB.

This will cost us when it matters.

Running game wasn't impressive. Singleton ypc stinks, but he had 2 TDs from the 1. Only 8 rushes. Still would have liked more from them, but today they worked on the WRs.

WRs. Room is improved for sure. AK focused on them today and rightfully so. 14 receptions by our new WRs.

Ford played. He started. Gilliam looked better for sure, but that's a positive. Blanding is similar to Durant. Quick twitch guy who can squeeze into the back field. White looked good coming in as the 5th guy.

First and foremost, DDS. Wow. Faster, stronger. He's gonna be a handful.

Harvey was solid. Coleman was the pressure man who forced Purdy wide on a DDS sack. Nevada made for a strange matchup. Purdy ran a lot. Didn't go downfield. Didn't even have much of a run game. Just an annoying squad.
Campbell looks pretty small but keeps after it and makes tackles.

Campbell was great. Obvious why he's starting and not Dom. More athletic than Kobe, better decision-making through one game. I saw 2 tackles where he should have been blown up by good blocks that he got low and shoestringed runners. Big hustle on the screen to run it down from behind.

It was good to see Grunk throw some. AK threw our TEs their bones with him.

Wallace had a couple good plays as did Smith. Nevada just seemed really focused on the run.

Very shocked Martin didn't play.

Underwhelmed, should have beat this team 80 - 0

I wonder why Martin didn't play?

Did Rojas play? Don’t recall hearing his name.

DDS did play super today. The question is if he can be as disruptive vs Oregon or oh-high-ya, which is what it might take to pull out wins in those games.

New WR's played well in the short game. Hudson't long catch was a broken coverage and from today's game the offense really doesn't yet have a deep threat. Maybe Ross is still hurting, but Ross and Pena really didn't show any deep ball capability today. Pena looks very good on the short routes, but the "big plays" that Franklin talks so much about weren't really evident in the passing game today.....

Nevada played a 3 deep zone most of the game to take away the long ball threat.

No complaints here. Just your standard 35-point win against an overmatched opponent.

We rolled over them as per expectations. What would have been concerning is if they had kept the game close...or even competitive. OK, if I'm forced to get picky, maybe 138 yards rushing and a 3.8 average per attempt is less than dominant.

Next up: another laugher. We open as 43-point favorites against FIU which as it happens is pretty much the same point spread as the Nevada game. After that, powerhouse Villanova comes to town. Gag.

I'm a little concerned that after three straight doormats, Oregon is going to be playing at an entirely different speed...and the Ducks actually do play some legitimate competition in the weeks beforehand. Then again, I'm always looking for things to worry about, so there's that.

No, I completely agree with your comment about Oregon. Would really like for this game next week to be at least someone from a power for conference just to have the game speed up in action like you talked about.

My primary complaint is that the concourses need to be widened. Beautiful day and everyone was getting too much sun, so we all piled into the concourses to use the bathrooms, concessions, etc. and stayed there until half was over trying to get a break from the sun. Well, there just isn't enough room for everyone. Give us an extra 10 feet or more of covered space around the circumference of the stadium.

Oregon plays Oklahoma St at home, then at Northerstern, then Oregon St at home. I agree that provides more challenge for them coming into our game. It would be nice to have a Syracuse, Virginia, or dare I say Pitt game in there.

Right, they had a walkover yesterday like ours but for the next three weeks they play legit power-conference opponents...none of them ranked but still.

I have no problem with a walkover game in September. Every team does this. But three in a row before the huge step-up to Oregon?

Oh well, the schedule is what the schedule is. I'm happy to get an automatic pass to 3-0. But I'm hoping we don't get bitten on the butt by the adjustment that will be necessary on September 27.

This team probably needs this type of schedule. A lot of the depth is young, and they need playing time. It also allows them to learn Knowles defense prior to playing a good team. I get the idea of playing a good team early, but it did not hurt Michigan two years ago playing a bunch of cream puffs early. IMO, the bye week prior to Oregon might be more of a negative. We don’t always play great after a bye.
