Do we really want a bowl game?

I want to beat Rutgers tomorrow but I think accepting a bowl game would be a disaster. We'd be lucky to get the Pinstripe Bowl and a lot of players would likely opt out (Dinkins, Singleton, Allen, Pena, Ross, Hudson, Shelton, Ioane, Sutton, Durant, Wheatley, Deluca, Ford, etc could all opt out of the game.

I'd much rather the staff spend the time on player retention and recruiting.

Call it a "Thank the Fans" game. Yankee Stadium would work. Party in Manhattan or if on a budget, in Paramus. Still, it's good to recognize the people who pay for the program.

Do we have a choice? I thought we were obligated through the Big Ten and the money.

Do you do a team poll to see who’s coming and who’s staying home before going to a bowl? Majority wins?

Bowl games should be a requirement of their signing with a team IMO…

It doesn't make sense to miss a bowl. A bowl will give the team 20+ more practices for the younger guy. Of course, it they don't hire a coach soon, there will be no younger guys.

As for players opting out. It's for the fans. The people who supported the team, who have school pride and $$$$$$$$$. The alums who support the team and the school. Don't run to the end zone and sing the Alma mater if you plan to leave the team when convenient. "But, but they have to look out for #1". Well then, quit the team with three games left, or something. Or don't go to NFL combines. Or don't drive on busy roads.

All depends on their NIL contract and what revenue sharing dictates. I’d be requiring it in all cases.

You can require it, but players planning on leaving won't be putting their bodies on the line so it's pointless to make them play.

Pinstripe Bowl would be a fun end of season reward for Terry turning it around.

Really wish the bowls got to pick teams... we'd be playing in Florida undoubtedly.
