How long until PSU is back in the playoffs?

A lot depends on the new coach and the NIL money PSU has available. I'm not optimistic but perhaps you guys can help give me hope. All of the stars from the 6th ranked 2022 class will be gone next year and replaced by whoever stays from the last 3 15th ranked classes. IMO PSU needs players ASAP if they have any hope of remaining relevant for the next couple of years.

Guys like Ruhle (Neb), Dillingham (AZ), Key (GT), and Diaz (Duk) might be great coaches but can they bring the recruits? I'm not sure if Urban Meyer could bring the recruits.

OSU Brian Hartline would be an interesting choice. He's making less than $2 million at OSU so this would be a nice step up. I read that he's clearly OSU's top recruiter. Maybe he could pull a few prospects with him.

I don't know enough about NIL money. Where can we get an extra $10 million to make an immediate impact? This article explains our 15th ranked classes: https://nittanysportsnow.com/2025/0...top-programs-in-average-nil-recruit-spending/

What would be Meyer's problem in attracting recruits?
And Dillingham had a friend that called him a few years ago and told him that there's this kid at Sac State named Skattebo. If it weren't for that, ASU would have been UA, which they may be regressing back to. Although Leavitt is a good QB when healthy.

This NIL quagmire may have been a source of tension between Kraft and Franklin. I don't think Franklin used the portal as aggressively as Kraft wanted reading between the lines from the presser. Franklin probably told Kraft we can get it done this year with paying all the returnees and not needing to go super aggressive in the portal. That backfired. Plus I don't think our big donors had confidence in Franklin and that limited the $.

I think we have money and can ratchet up our NIL behind the energy of a new coach. Cignetti would be my choice and my dream would be Urban. Those two guys can get us to the playof next season. The program is not in disarray. People are overblowing the loss of Franklin and claiming we won't get anybody who can coach as if we are Bama and just fired Saban at his peak.
