@IANit I didn't know how to direct message you, but I guess it doesn't hurt if there are others that chime in with their opinions. On these game threads, I think it may make sense to have an official game thread on the regular football board and then maybe move it to the game day thread sub-boards after the game. I like your organization, having discussions in the appropriate bins, but I do think that you'd get more interaction on the game day thread if it were on the football board to start and then moved after the conclusion of the game. Just a thought that I'd throw out there. Maybe others feel differently.

Thanks, IANit, I agree with the OP. Better to have game threads on the main sports board than on a sub-forum. Otherwise you may end up with two separate threads for the same game which happened with both the Penn State and Notre Dame games. In contrast, the Ohio State thread that I started on the main board seemed to get pretty good engagement.

I totally get your rationale in creating the sub-forum, but I think people just normally click on the main board and are inclined to stay there for a game thread rather than clicking a 2nd time.

I created the ND thread on the football board. I didn't realize that the game day threads board was intended for all games. I thought it was for the PSU game and other PSU game day threads that pop up.

Right, IANit had already started a Notre Dame thread on the sub-forum, which you didn't see.

Meanwhile, I posted on the designated sub-forum, not aware until this morning that a Notre Dame thread had also been started on the main football board, unintentionally competing with the other one. This illustrates the potential confusion.

Better I think to have game threads on the main board as was always done on the Rivals site and leave it at that.
