Its officially game week. Give a few guesses

I think we use this week and the other 2 preseason games to work on the passing game and then ground and pound when up big.

We need the all new WR group to get in synch with Allar. Now is the time to do that. Plus, we can give teams a pass first tendency for their scouting. That way we can use the ground game against Oregon to set the tone and flip our script.

Defensively, I suspect that we see the new DC's defense without watering it down. We need to make sure the defense understands their roles and give them as many game reps as possible doing what that defense asks of them.

I hope we come out and run it down their throats first drive. We've heard all spring, summer, and fall camp "Joe Moore quality OL". I say prove it. Run the ball for 6 ypc (or more) until you get inside their 30 then sling one over the top to whoever for a TD.

Then when they come out, abuse them. They gain a yard, that's a lap next practice. On 3rd and 14, somebody's snags a INT and we start on their side of the field.

Next play, Play Action pass gets us inside 5.

Will PSU "air it out" in their first offensive series or "ground & pound" with short passes sprinkled in?

Will PSU defense come up with a sack and/or turnover in their first defensive series?
I think we pass on the first play, a short pass to Hudson that he catches at the line of scrimmage and goes for about 10 yards. The first drive will be a mix of passes and runs but more runs as they won't be able to stop us. Singleton scores on an 8 yard run. Dinkins catches one and so does Pena.

On defense we just suffocate them, no room to run and we put pressure on their QB. They have one, maybe two first downs in the first quarter.

This game will be over by the end of the first quarter as we lead 21-0.

I predict airing it out on offense until they get to ~5 yard line. Then switch to under center and a full back, and smash it in for the TD. They will do this for the next two games, and then retire the plays until next year.

On defense, they'll get a sack and a near miss int. A penalty for being overly aggressive seems likely too.
