Julian Sayin has a funny throwing motion

I know it's just practice, but notice his footwork vs the other QBs. On deep throws, he seems to jump and swing his throwing foot leg around: Jumping Julian Sayin. You don't notice the other QBs doing that. You don't notice it as much on his first throw at about :30, but at around 1:03 he seems to practically jump and swing his leg around to generate power on the long ball, like he's throwing a javelin or something. I question how effective that will be against a good defense where you won't have that much room to throw. He's #10, by the way.

And before anyone gets mad...

Interestingly, I found a video of PSU backup Billy Fessler (OSU's QB coach - maybe a PSU plant? :)) talking about Sayin's need to build up his arm strength despite his quick release.
I read in another thread that every major school in the B1G is breaking in a new QB. That is huge with us having a 3 year starter. And if you look at last year, the teams that won had very expeirenced QBs (Howard in Gabriel in the B1G, who were both two years older and multi-year starters for big time programs). ND also had a multi-year starter who xfered to ND and was older than Drew.

The year before it was Bo Nix, Penix and JJ MCarthy (although they won with their running game)

Neither arm looked impressive in that video. Floaters, way outside the area they were trying to hit. Of course, this drill is probably more for the QBs working down field accuracy than timing so I may be judging harshly.

Smith and Tate will clean up a lot. Sayin is small though. I think?

They list him at 6'1 203, so probably 6'0, 195.
