Sounds like he’s got a good resume and strong football background but would it have been a good fit bringing a guy with all Western connections East? I wonder if PSU needs someone that has some eastern or Pennsylvania connections.

BYU-TTU game
BYU's offense is a lot of short passes and not much of a running game. I'm not looking for explosive plays for the sake of explosive plays, but BYU either doesn't have the firepower or the offensive game plan sux. TTU is a talented team however.

Texas Tech has been a buzz saw this season in the Big 12. BYU is simply overmatched.

Reports are saying that Campbell was one of the top candidates by PSU, but he didn’t want to talk until the season was over. And then when PSU contacted his agent, they talk to the wrong person. Apparently whoever they talk to never turned the information over to Campbell’s real agent, so the message never got through. Thinking Campbell was not interested, Penn State moved on and looked at BYU. Regardless, Penn State got one of the top candidates. Not only that, it appears that Campbell was booked with Penn State for quite a while in that Iowa State filled the vacancy within a day of Campbell being named Penn states new coach.

It did seem odd that ISU had a replacement so quickly. Almost like they knew MC was gone and started their replacement search multiple weeks ago. Maybe the original person contacted knew that Campbell did not want to be bothered until after the season. Or contact was made with Campbell and he said I'm not saying anything until after the season and this was understood by PSU that MC was not interested.

All is well that ended this well. The cream of the crop rose to the top and PSU skimmed it off.

ISU's AD, Jamie Pollard, is a good one. I'm sure he had a list of possible successors since Campbell has drawn interest from bigger programs for a while. He must hate us. He still can't talk about Cael. Maybe we need to poach the basketball coach. Unfortunately they have been better than us for a long while at basketball.
