How nice to have the 2 best teams playing. No East vs West. No 7-4 Iowa or Michigan St to watch with the game over at halftime. Actually looking forward to this one.

Hope IU can pull it off. Mendoza needs to be the difference if they’re going to win.

Didn't see it but was told the hit that knocked Mendoza out early for a play should have been a 15 yarder.
The defender did see that Mendoza got rid of the ball but didn't let up. It's whatever the ref feels like doing about it, and the announcers will cover for him with all that rationalization speak they use.

I have a new, unthought-of football strategy... on second down, always go for the first down. My analytics show that teams rarely recover after going with useless, up the middle runs on second down and 8+ yards.

And on QB scrambles, receivers cut back toward the ball.

Pretty stupid play calling by Un-high-ya on 3rd and 1 inside the IU 10 yard line. If ur the #1 team you run for it. Not making it on the previous 4th and 1 was only due to Sayin putting his knee down before got 2 yards on the QB sneak. If you are going to pass it on 3rd and 1 you have to run it on 4th and 1. Their FG kicker choked.....

IU 4th qtr playcalling at midfield when momentum was on its side...
1. 3-yd run
2. 1-yd run
3. Scramble. Throw the ball away.
4. Punt
That's how games are lost. Fear of throwing.
Yep. Franklin lost some big games by going into a shell and believing he could run the clock out by running the ball only to punt and get burned.

I don't know if Indy has better players than OSU (or even PSU) but whole team played fast and confident.

Franklin's players didn't play with that confidence in big games. Can you coach confidence?

Work ethic.
Hogan was always practicing. As a young man, he routinely hit balls until his hands bled, and he was well into his 70's before he ceased his daily sessions at the range. ''There is not enough daylight in a day to practice all the shots you ought to be practicing, he told Golf Digest in 1978.
