Pinstripe it is

Looks like we’ll play either Pitt or Clemson. Either one makes an interesting game. University of Pittsburgh because of the in-state rivalry. Clemson because many predicted the national championship game between Clemson and Penn State in the playoff.

I didn't realize Clemson was that highly ranked. Seems like more of the same from them this season.

Either would be a great outcome to the season.

I would have preferred Pitt but Clemson makes for a very interesting matchup. They came into the season with supposedly a shot at winning it all and went down in flames like we did...though it wasn't quite as bad as our crack-up.

They went on a 4-game winning streak, to include wins against Louisville and South Carolina, to close the regular season so they're going to give us all we can handle.

The big question, as is now the case in all these non-playoff bowl games, is who will show up to play and who will opt out. I don't have a real warm feeling on that count.

I think the best part is that Coach Campbell will be able to observe and interact with the current roster with the 15 practices.
I was under the belief that there is a 15 practice limit. But this is what the NCAA has to say when I searched for the max number of practices when thinking about how Coach Campbell will be able to evaluate his roster during bowl practices:

There is no specific maximum number of practices that a college football team may hold while preparing for a bowl game. Instead, standard NCAA rules apply, which limit activities to a maximum of four hours per day and 20 hours per week.

Key Details on Bowl Practices
  • No specific limit: Contrary to a common misconception, the NCAA does not impose a cap of 15 practices for bowl preparation. This myth likely stems from the 15-session limit in spring practice.
  • Weekly and daily limits: During the bowl preparation period, teams must adhere to the same in-season rules regarding daily (four hours) and weekly (20 hours) limits on all athletically related activities.
  • Player development benefit: The extra time afforded by bowl practices is a significant advantage, as coaches can use the additional sessions to develop younger players and assess their roster beyond the core game preparation.
  • Contact limits: The NCAA does provide guidelines on contact, limiting live contact practices to no more than two per week during the bowl season.
  • Roster size: Teams are allowed to bring a maximum roster size of 125 players to the bowl game.

Thanks. Either way, Coach Campbell will get some time to evaluate the current roster
