Honestly, I'd take 11-1 and be happy. College football has changed, as tOSU showed us last season. You just want to play well enough to get the golden ticket to the postseason playoff. tOSU would NOT have been in if it wasn't for the expanded format yet, they are natties.

When I went out to the Big 10 title game there were tons of Ohio St fans there. They had bought the tickets and then Michigan ruined their plans but many still showed up. Talking with them, almost half of them at that time wanted Day fired. Another quarter wanted him fired if he didn't win at least 2 games in the playoff.

It is. OSU lost 2 games last year with the best roster. 4pm after the Michigan game, nobody thought "they are winning it all."

I think that's the big change that most of us have to acknowledge. 10-2 with a great roster can win it all. Before the 12 team playoff, that wasn't realistic.

12-0 is a tall order for any team... OSU Tx, Oreg, Clem... whoever you want to pick. Undefeated is difficult. I dont see it with PSU as we have to play 2 other top 5 teams.

The only thing I posted is I think we drop a game to someone other than OSU or Oreg.

This team is loaded. It is exciting. Until we beat the likes of OSU (or Mich)... we are the 3 in the Big 10... and a top 10 ranked team. Add Oreg into the mix, the job got tougher. Right now, I do not think we are a top 3 or 4 team.... maybe 6-8. #1 or #2... I call BS.

10-2.... I hope Im wrong.

The scenario you are laying out where you think these teams like Nebraska or Iowa or Indiana or Michigan State could beat us would assume Allar doesn't improve or possibly regresses and probably the DLine is not so hot. Inherent in that is assuming some kind of nightmare game with turnovers, penalties, injuries whatever. There is no way we are losing to the likes of Nebraska, even Iowa with an improved Allar and solid (not great) execution. Remember we should be able to run the ball well against these teams so we may not even need Allar to be really good. Plus it probably assumes average WR play without a standout.

11-1 is very achievable. I would not characterize it as "A lot has to go right". That sounds like wishful thinking and a remote chance if the stars align. Is it a lock? No but I feel more confident than last year with all our best players returning, more experience and more maturity. This is not the NFL predicting a 16-1 season. We have a big talent advantage over all the teams we play except OSU and Oregon.
