The bowl game

Just so frustrated with all these opt outs. But 2 questions…

-If you love football, don’t you want to be with your teammates, enjoy the bowl experience, and put on your jersey and play in your final game of the season? (maybe career)
-for those who say the bowl games are meaningless and there’s risk of injury, then why play in the Rutgers game? Mich State game? Those were meaningless games too. Where does it end?

-and for the opt out guys…why are they just announcing it this week?what took so long? and why couldn’t this have been taken care of a week or two ago?

Just had to get this off my chest. I feel a bit better now.

Rutgers is a league game, B2G sanctioned, on the schedule from the beginning. A bowl game is none of that. It's a scrimmage with no consequence. Win or lose, everyone goes home and the winner gets the same thing as the loser.

The only way to view a bowl game nowadays is to look at them more like a Blue White game, only, it's against another team. Just good practice for the younger players on the team that will play next year.

They are probably told to wait on announcing so more tickets are purchased.

Very difficult to analyze this game and you'd have to be crazy to put money on it.

I mean, neither team looks anything like their regular-season versions. Also, the weather is looking shaky though apparently the snow will have stopped by kick-off but it will still be very cold and breezy.

The one thing Clemson has going for them is their starting QB, Cade Klubnik who was talked about in the Heisman conversation preseason but didn't perform to that expectation, will apparently play and be throwing against our decimated secondary.

In the end, it'll come down to who wants it more. Both coaches are saying all the right things on that score but we'll see.
