that there doesn't seem to be much hope for the near future. Who are the future stars? This collapse would be easier to take if there were a bunch of highly rated recruits that have shown promise but I just don't see it.

QB: Grunk was a 4* recruit but he's young and inexperienced. Smolik wasn't rated as high.
RB: Cam Wallace seems to be next in line but he was only graded 87. Smith. Martin hasn't been seen.
TE: I think Reynolds & Rapp were both rated 4* so there might be some hope there. Olesh is 1+ yrs away.
OL: Williams & Birchmeier were both 5 star recruits but we've seen nothing. Cousins might be good. Goodman, Andrews, Sexton are young.
WR: No top recruits but a few decent recruits. Outten, Denmark, Howard, Denmark?

Overall I'm not too optimistic for next year.

DT: Artis, Blanding, Wafle, & White don't have me excited
DE: Kemajou might be good. Hope Granville returns healthy. Coleman has disappeared but could be good in time. Jennings?
LB: We better hope Arrington is like his dad. Campbell has another year. Who else?
DB: Dixson is promising. Mack & Lane should return. Nothing too exciting.

Overall I'm still not too optimistic for next year.

Out last 3 recruiting classes were ranked 14th, 15th, and 15th. That should be good enough for a 4th or 5th place finish in the BiG but probably not next year with so few star players returning. Years ago Wisconsin had a big year after getting Russell Wilson but I can't imagine Franklin doing that to Grunk or even having enough money to get a top QB. We couldn't even get top LBs, WRs, or DTs this year. I can easily see 8-4 or 7-5 next year followed by a few 9-3 years unless something changes.

A new coach and smart, aggressive portal activity is the only way out IMHO. Sandy cost this program a lot more money than Franklin's contract. And the blame for her goes directly to the admin and BOT.
