I think it means that the BOT had to have 48 hours before the scheduled meeting for compensation to approve the contract. That's how the BOT functions and how a formal agreement of this magnitude must be approved.

A letter of commitment works. The lawyers can then better articulate the Ts & Cs and the legalese.

Iowa State's reportedly already got its next coach. Jimmy Rogers from Washington State. Won an FCS championship at South Dakota State a couple of seasons ago. That's quite a fast turnaround. At least we don't have to worry about Campbell backing out now.
