Drew to throw at combine this week.

The latest projection I saw had him going in the 4th round...#7 in the QB rankings...so he could help himself at the combine. The ironic thing is if he'd gone into the draft after the 2024 season, he'd have been a considerably higher pick than is likely to be the case in this year's draft...

OT USA wins the hockey gold cup

Great game and a total nail-biter. I'm not ordinarily a hockey fan but the sport is at its best in these kind of high-stakes games where every shot on goal has you holding your breath. Couldn't agree more about the goal-tender. A performance for the ages. He's the MVP no doubt but everyone...

Indiana may have to forfeit its natty and entire season

Exactly the thought that crossed my mind. On the one hand, it's hard to see them stripping Indiana of its title. On the other hand, this is the NCAA we're talking about.

    Here's a shirt I'll rush to order...NOT

Yeah, like they wouldn't have guessed that Penn State fans like myself might actually have been rooting against their two precious sacred cows in the playoffs. Indiana...different story. Cignetti rubs me the wrong way but you can't take away how incredible it was to make the run they did...

    Here's a shirt I'll rush to order...NOT

The conference celebrates its 3 straight national championships with some apparel that one smart-aleck on X called the "gayest shirt ever." Hard to argue: https://www.outkick.com/sports/big-ten-releases-embarrassing-championship-trifecta-shirt

    Sonny Jurgensen 91

Great QB. Had the misfortune to play on some crappy teams. He later said the highlight of his career was the single season he played for Vince Lombardi who showed him how easy the game could be with a great coach. I loved the color pair of Sonny and Sam Huff on Redskins radio broadcasts back...

    OT Very sad news

I remember when he was coaching at Arkansas and they played in the Orange Bowl against favored Oklahoma, which actually had a shot at a national championship. Lou benched some key starters on offense for unspecified disciplinary reasons. It was like sending a message that he'd rather lose with...

Looks like Lou Holtz was moved to hospice

Unfounded Internet rumor last night. Lou's still alive.

Looks like Lou Holtz was moved to hospice

He was a great college coach in his prime. I'd rank him in my top-5 list for the period 1970-2000 when he turned around a number of losing programs.

PSU players supposedly speak out about 2025

It sounds believable but still hard to take seriously what with two totally anonymous alleged sources, both described as "members of the Nittany Lion program" which is a pretty broad brush. Also, those answers to the author's questions sound just a little too polished and rehearsed. Hard to...

Interesting that there is no national championship game thread

I thought Cristobal's decisions to close the half were even worse. His team driving after being completely shut down...and he sits on the ball and lets the clock wind down, playing for a 50-yard FG attempt from a kicker struggling during the playoffs. Hard to figure. Still, it ended up being...

Indiana opens as 7.5-point favorite against Miami

I checked Mel Kiper's latest big board this evening and sure enough, he's moved Mendoza ahead of Moore. Honestly, Mendoza just looked flat-out better than Moore last night.

Indiana opens as 7.5-point favorite against Miami

Agreed on all counts. Oregon gifted Indiana 21 points early on with one back-breaking turnover after another deep in its own territory. The game was over before halftime. Also, Mendoza may have moved himself ahead of Moore as #1 pick in this year's draft.

Indiana opens as 7.5-point favorite against Miami

I've followed this sport for decades and have been conditioned to think of Indiana as bumbling and pathetic. Yet over the last two games, they've looked like one of the greatest teams in the annals of college football and are now looking to make history. Everything is clicking for them...

    Paul Finebaum and Humble Pie

Good piece in Outkick that basically makes the exact point as mine in post #3 above: https://www.outkick.com/sports/coaches-say-nil-ended-sec-dominance-conference-posts-dismal-2-7-bowl-playoff-record
