Brian Newberry coaches Navy and just completed his 3nd 10 win season. He earns $1.8 million.
Why is he ignored for these many openings?

Good coaching is good coaching IMO. Adapting to your resources is a big part of it.I'd have to guess It’s mostly the Navy factor. Triple option, service academy roster limits, and a totally different recruiting world. Winning there is impressive, but ADs may worry about how well that translates to a big time Power 4 job with portals, NIL, and a completely different style of football.
I don't disagree. I was just trying to think of any reason.Good coaching is good coaching IMO. Adapting to your resources is a big part of it.
You literally cannot find a coach from Navy other than Paul Johnson who did anything at a P4 school. They don't have the recruiting or coaching chops. Can you imagine the difference trying to qualify a kid for a power 5 school verses an academy? I also doubt if they are allowed to pay players or allow NIL. They begin the race a mile behind.
