Another option to catch both FB and hockey. Fly into PHX or one of the LA airports. Catch the first hockey game at ASU, then immediately drive to maybe Palm Desert area (4-hour drive), catch some Zs, then off to Pasadena. LA to PHX is an easy ~6-hour desert drive.The season opener @ASU is ill-timed for me due to the FB game @ UCLA. Anyone interested in attending the ASU games, look no further than right in Tempe for lodging. And for a step up, with golf, there's AZ Biltmore, Camelback Inn, and The Boulders.
