2025/26 Transfer Portal & Roster Changes Thread

If you look at the position

Side note: The article below the one you provided is a head scratcher. I guess we'll see how the five star-studded TTU and USC do again this year. The writer's bio doesn't go with a site called "Victory Bell Rings".
I had read that article. I believe Dixon, Collins, Tracey and Joseph are as good any any CB room in the country. And another plus is that Dixon and Joseph have 2 years to play before they are NFL eligible. CB is really the last position that "missing" on any transfer is a big concern. Is that CB even as good as any of the 4 PSU CB's? Dixon out played Coleman as far as impact on the defense and Colemen was a .98, so what would Dixon have been? That writer was just looking for a story where there wasn't one.

It could be that or it could be that Campbell wants his own guys. Or it could be $$$. Who knows?

I thought some of our decommits might come back but that hasn't happened and a lot of them are PA kids.
Could be some time before any come back. The best in the portal tend to get offers early and lock in their NIL/contract. But although the portal closes on 1/16, I believe that's only the cut off to enter the portal. Naturally, players and teams want to get their targets enrolled for the Winter semester and in classes as well as their S&C programs and ready to participate in Spring practices mostly beginning in March. Players in the portal but not getting on a team may linger in the portal for weeks or months and some then may try and come back if Coach Campbell has room in the 105 max scholarship roster and some NIL remaining.

Surprising about Lane and Adirika. Lane seems like he ended the season on an up note and looks like a plus athlete at Safety. Similar to Wheatley athletically, but he has a ways to go developmentally. He could have found out what other Safety's in the portal are getting and also could have been contacted by a school that wants to throw money at him. Adirika being only a redshirt freshman next season likely wasn't being counted on for much playing time by Campbell for 2026 so maybe he's looking for a surer spont in a rotation or even a chance to start next season.

Campbel looks like he on a roll with DL transfers, but he seems thin at Safety with Lane gone.

Dejuan Lane and Randy Andrika entered the portal today. I can't help but wonder if they felt disrespected like Amare Campbell.

These players seem afraid of competing. At this point, I don't think it's about $. Guess what guys, you're going to need to compete at other schools and in real life.

These are interesting times. Does a coach stop looking to improve a room in fear of losing players? When players can portal in any year, then there are no guarantees of even holding on to those that were protected. The players that stay are more than likely getting paid to their liking, understand the dynamics of the marketplace, trust their coaches, and are willing to meet the challenge and compete for playing time. A new team culture is being shaped.

It's just pieces of one game, but I watched PSU-Clemson highlights looking solely for #10. Let me just say that Lane is no Wheatley.
The BlueWhite podcast guy is shocked that Lane is leaving. He says he was on track to be another Brisker. Again, in my view based on limited snaps, Lane did not appear to be Wheatley aggressive. He lined up deep and was never in any highlight plays except for catching up to a wide open Clemson receiver after a long gain down the sideline. Please advise.

Alex Birchmeier is showing the way. When the reality of the market sets in, many players on many teams will be ratcheting down to their natural levels. The career starts off in the BIG10 & SEC, then it's to the AAC & CUSA, and then finally to the Colonial & Big Sky. If the education is free, then major in finance and accounting and work on a career.

Speaking of Birchmeier... I remember when we recruited him and Williams. Both were high 4 or even 5 stars. I thought games are won and lost in the trenches and was really looking forward to having those two guys. What a disappointment.

Denmark to the portal. Some of these guys must have unrealistic expectations about competition. I believe Denmark could have been a contributor at PSU but no player can expect to be handed a starting spot just because they decided to stay. Especially at WR where everyone knows that an influx of talent was coming. And it will likely continue with the 2027 recruiting class. Denmark is a PA kid and he may find that the interest across college football for his services is not what he expects.

Also, freshman RB Jabree Coleman also went to the portal today.

Also saw that former PSU DE Z. Fisher signed with USC. They must have DL numbers isses as well....

Remember when we recruited our region? We used to say the best in PA stay in PA. At this rate we're not going to have any PA kids on the roster.

Woh ever thought the majority of our players would be from Iowa & Nebraska?

Your issue seems to be with the state of "college" football today and I'm with you on this 40% of players in free agency seeking out their best deals and teams buying 40% of their rosters or more (the 4 semifinalists are all more).
