2027 PSU Football Class

This class started off pretty slow as far as splash recruits go, but getting the 247 composite #4 in Ohio (CB Keeihjuan Telfair) to commit has to be looked at as getting at least somewhat back into competition with the big boys recruiting wise!!

Interesting take on both the coaching staff and recruiting.

It sounds similar to Indiana. They had no real hype to them. They just brought in the players they wanted not caring about stars. They developed them and put their heads down and went to work. Even last year, I (like much of the media) thought that they would take a step back from their first playoff appearance the year prior. Nope. They went out and won it all.

Campbell continues to talk about how he and his staff focus on development. Regarding the talented players from his program that went high in the NFL draft, he talks about how they developed within his program. So it follows that he may like to have some 5 star talent, but not at the expense of upsetting his program with primadona's that want coddled and big money thrown at them. He's more so looking for talented athletes that have high coachability personalities, that have a high desire to work hard towards goals, and that are willing to possibly be patient in Campbell's system and get better before they earn a starting job. Kind of like a good o'l ball coach that won 400+ games at PSU used to do.....

The review of where PSU is with QB recruiting and how it's being impacted by other teams landing and potentially landing QB's is particularly well written!

Robbins is from our High School. He dominated on the basketball court the last two seasons and USC repeated as WPIAL champs due to his ability to dominate inside. I believe his scoring average went up during the WPIAL and state playoff games. Sean Lee also went from USC as a BB and football player to PSU and did pretty well for Joe. USC is a 5A school by qualification and chooses to play 6A in BB. He'll be a monster after a year or two in the PSU S&C program. Great to hear he's getting CB's to PSU!

Great to hear about his BB skills. He seems like a great overall athlete and his foot skills should be a great asset on the OL.

So, what will be the strategy going forward? What will the model be in 2-3 years? 20 out of HS and 10 from the portal each year, give or take? Assuming an increase in attrition. And with in-house development preferred for the non-skill positions because there is less risk.

I believe Robbins will be a star for PSU. Hoping he'll be a 6'7" 320 lb high NFL draft choice 4 years from now!

Robbins will likely keep playing BB as a Senior next Fall, but if he does get on a PSU directed S&C program going forward to his signing next December he could become more filled out and end up as a 4 star rated OT by signing day.

Was WPIAL player of th year in basketball as a Junior.
