We are in the running for Peter Bourque but he is shopping around. We recently offered Will Wood out of Mass. Not as highly rated as Bourque (high 3 star vs 4 star) but more mobile. I think Wood makes sense given Campbell's system I believe favors a mobile QB.

Will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Wood seems to be a much better fit. Lots of positive press on him out there. Had a big season last year and huge championship game. Wood’s stock is rising. He will be a four star QB. Ohio State and Auburn were just in to see him throw. I think Bourque isn’t a great fit for the system at Penn State and he probably knows that as well.

Don't need both and too expensive. I think we close hard to get Will Wood. UNC is our competition, not sure who else. We should be able to get him.
With Manske a redshirt freshman and the true freshmen Evans and Falzone it doesn't seem that the 2027 class needs 2 QB's.

But another way of looking at it is to over recruit QB's and let them sort out in practice and expect for 1 or more to portal out each year. I don't believe Campbell would intentially push to this pattern, but in today's heavy on transfering college football together with the expectations at PSU he may not have a choice. I just hope that Campbell is better at identifying and bringing in QB's that actually fit his system than Franklin was.

Manske had a rating of 90 out of HS, so good get. Falzone looked clunky compared to Huhn in the Elite 11. Maybe always leave room for someone from Christopher Newport, Ferris State, or one of the Dakotas who have the skills and experience.

Yep, bringing is an experienced QB from a lesser competitive situation such ar Barry in the current mega roster era seems like great insurance for the team. Just have to find one that is satisfied coming to PSU that realizes he just coming for the enviroment and big time college football perks with not much chance to win a starting position.

Falzone may look clunky but his athleticism could get him on the field. I believe he's being coached in the off season by the guy from Ohio that made Allar a highly sought after recruit and a Steeler, so he could end up being a positive surprise if he sticks it out at PSU.

I think the QB room is in a little bit of a precarious situation. Need to keep in mind that Mansky had the same surgery in March as Becht. I’m reading people are hopeful that he is ready for summer camp. He would be a good solid backup The quarterback from Christopher Newport appears to be a good kid, mature, a leader, athletic, but not someone who would be looked at as the #2 quarterback at Penn State. Don’t look for any feelgood stories of him leading the Lions to victories in the Big Ten.
