He was tackled by an O lineman on a pass rush on 2nd qtr, IIRC. Had to come out for awhile.
He played some in second half so I don’t know if that was the play. A terrible hold…..not called.![]()
Like we even had a chance at the semis or better with the way we have looked to date but with this injury that guarantees that ain't happening now.Not good news. So who are the next men up? There are a few games to get them up to speed.
The key will be Knowles' understanding of the situation and the adjustments he makes, no doubt. But hopefully, somebody gains instant fame at LB, just like Coleman did at DE. On offense, I'm hoping the reserve RBs and WRs get some work and surprise, as well. That's a huge loss we could hardly afford at this point
Time for Wylie & Speca to step up to fill along with Tastch. Certainly Campbell & Deluca will start but the other three have to be thrown into PT to build depth in the next three weeks. After 3 weeks it's a much more difficult schedule. Game speed is the best teacher. They'll make some mistakes and that will be the best instruction. There will be more game tape to review to correct them. "Geter done"!Fortunately we have two weak teams and a bye to work on it.

I read (admittedly from a fan post) that Speca is not that impressive. What about Wylie? What do we have after Campbell and Deluca? Tatsch has been talked up by Knowles but he is so young. Then the other Freshman who Franklin mentioned.Time for Wylie & Speca to step up to fill along with Tastch. Speca was talked up during Spring & Fall camp but his reps aren't matching the talk. Still, out of him, Wylie, Tatsch (Freshman), and perhaps Cam Smith (Freshman), Connor & Knowles can find two they can rely on.I read (admittedly from a fan post) that Speca is not that impressive. It seemed all the talk about Arrington was ",athletic" much more than LBer ability. He'll probably be ready for 2026.When it comes to talk and early hype I'm surprised no one is mentioning Arrington. All the early Spring camp talk was about him and his physical talent. His early LB play must not have matched the early compliments he got from the staff.
The team needs the next Sean Lee (one example of a LB that was ready early in his career and did comtribute early) to emerge from among the young LB's. It's not unheard of in PSU LB history and what makes following PSU football fun in the first place.
I was and still am a big Rojas fan. Hope he attacks his recovery therapy and comes back bigger, stronger, faster in 2026!
Wylie, DeLuca, Speca, Nelson. I guess you go with the best LB, Mike or not Mike. Curious if someone like Coleman could be helpful here, and could even learn while doing it. A young Abdul Carter.
You can have all the athletic/ physical skills in the world but if you don’t know what you’re doing and don’t know your reads, you won’t play fast and you won’t be much help. When it comes to talk and early hype I'm surprised no one is mentioning Arrington.
