Hudson had 2 glaring misses Saturday. Guys who analyze the film can check it out. That said, Kotelnick did not stretch the field enough to back up their defense. The offense he used at Kansas worked because his QB was the best running back on offense. That gave Kansas an extra blocker.

Just a casual observer of the sport, but I often wonder if blocking is part of the reason for the failure to get separation. Seems to me you can't do both at the same time, unless you're a TE.

Hudson was considered a great blocker at USC and earned him a "C" patch. Pena is supposed to be good too, as he is very strong and well built. Ross is too small. But I also saw a missed key block as well by Hudson. Overall, I don't think anyone on O played well.

WRs are vital for the running game in many ways. You won't get a lot of 20+ yd rushes without solid wr blocking. IMHO it does make it harder for them to block if the defense h as no fear of deep passes.
