There may be 1 or 2 assistants, but I think the biggest damage will be recruits and a few portal kids. He was excellent with the players and their families ( I know this first hand). He will be brutal to recruit against in DelMarVa. He’s also entrenched in Florida. I believe he will do very well in the ACC.

I think other ADs and programs are aware of his shtick. Game day fails and his reaction to the Oregon loss to name two.
He can take Kotelnicki and Hagans with him as a start and dominate the recruiting from Roanoke to Bristol, TN.

I thought VT was a solid spot for him, much more so than the SEC. Easier path to ACC titles and CFP.

PSU MUST hire a coach with strong connections for recruiting the DMV and the ability to effectively ID/bring in portal players who fit the new schemes.

Well, so we know Franklin's ceiling is getting to the playoff in a peak year within the top 10 support and facilities at PSU, VT seems like a good fit given that their fans would be thrilled with 8-10 wins per season and a yearly bowl game. Franklin has about a farts chance in a wind storm of taking VT to the final 4 and their fans know that's not a realistic expectation so it seems like a good fit.
