Complaints

This team probably needs this type of schedule. A lot of the depth is young, and they need playing time. It also allows them to learn Knowles defense prior to playing a good team. I get the idea of playing a good team early, but it did not hurt Michigan two years ago playing a bunch of cream puffs early. IMO, the bye week prior to Oregon might be more of a negative. We don’t always play great after a bye.

If we had played OSU yesterday and lost (as Texas did), we would have tore the world down (as Texas fans have). I agree with you, we probably need a easy slate to get some of these players up to speed. There was 1 true freshman on the field in that OSU Texas game best I could tell (Littleton). That isn't the place you want to baptize them by fire.

No need to play a top ten or even top twenty. But these teams are embarrassingly bad crew. Ohio U or W Michigan would beat these teams.

Game three should have been a better opponent. Kentucky, Wake Forest, Rice, Syracuse, BC…..somebody with a pulse.

I hope you're right.

Totally agree. Play a team with a pulse to get ready for Oregon. The Oregon QB, Dante Moore, is legit. He also gets to play against competition with at least a pulse in Okie State, Oregon State and Northwestern leading up to us. Our D will see nothing like him prior nor an O-Line of Oregon's caliber so they need to adjust. The good news is the White Out crowd should be a rude awakening for him.

Ill put a complaint on the board. Why in the hell are we running a hurry up offense 5 minutes into the start of a new season. In the end, we made a bad snap and settled for 3. We were the only team in the country running hurry up in Q1 in the first game of the season. With all the new players, new year, new transfers, first game gitters, new plays etc.... our coaches put more pressure on the players running a hurry up in the first quarter of the first game.

It is things like this where you scratch your head. CJF will ensure we dont win a championship.

I don't think that is a big deal. 1) These first 3 are preseason games. We are in no jeopardy of losing. 2) Even a closer than expected win of like 20 points differential isn't going to drop us from a good spot to do what we want to do this year. 3) The preseason games are likely going to be used to work on things, maybe a lot of things that they evaluate as "needs work". 4) Just sit back and enjoy it. If we lose 2 or less of the real games, then we get a shot to run the table in the playoff.

Right now we just need to stay healthy, keep the starters fresh, give young guys some work, identify which young guys can develop and help this season, and work to improve execution. Maybe we put some things on film that we want the opponents to think about. Otherwise, it is an extension of camp with a month-long preseason.

Hmmm, we decide to test hurry up in a completely no risk game setting to get practice and you extrapolate we won't win a championship because of Franklin doing that.

Because coaches need something to be pissed about so they can push kids harder.

Coach wanted them to screw it up. Now he gets to go crazy when watching films. Go crazy in practice. Moan to the media.

#1 skill of a coach is psychology. The best are masters at it.

If you actually watch Singleton, you will see he doesn't break tackles.
And yes, he breaks long runs from time to time, which helps his ypc, but last year and this past game he runs more like a wr.
Agreed. He doesn't explode through tacklers and he gets tripped up easily. Meanwhile, Allen doesn't juke and spin, but at least he's effective.
