I hope he's right and I hope Mamdani wins... lol..

I guess there are no "normal" candidates in the democratic party...

PHILLIPS: Well, Omar, if Democrats would just put up normal candidates right now, it'd be the best strategy imaginable. But when Democrats elevate people like Mamdani -- and look at him. I do not know him. I can't -- I'm not going to disparage him personally, but I can tell you, based on what I've read about his positions, his platform, you know, it's nonsensical to believe that America is looking for Democratic socialists around the country.

Political Analyst Warns NYC: Socialist Zohran Mamdani Poised to Win

I triple dog dare NYC to elect this sorry f-word.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/sarah...cialist-zohran-mamdani-poised-to-win-n2660271

Political analyst Mark Halperin evaluated the prospects of NYC Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, and his assessment isn’t optimistic for the city. New Yorkers will need to quickly understand who this self-described socialist really is, or risk facing serious consequences.

During an appearance on “Kudlow,” Halperin discussed the chances of Mamdani, who campaigned against former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, winning the New York mayoral race, predicting that Mamdani has an 85% chance of winning the mayoral race. Mamdani won the Democratic nomination earlier this month, capturing 56 percent of the vote and defeating more moderate, establishment candidates.

"Not today. There was some opposition research dropped on him,” Halperin responded to Larry Kudlow when asked whether Mamdani could be defeated in New York. “And if there’s something that’s akin to a silver bullet against a communist, maybe. But, barring that, I think he’s got an 85 percent chance of being his honor come next year.”

America’s ‘useful idiots’ — the left calls for revolution as the ultimate virtue signal

https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/5397742-2-socialism-youth-american/

During the Cold War, Soviet communists reportedly referred to American liberals as “useful idiots.” Although the origin of the quote has been challenged (and attributed to both Lenin and Stalin), it captured many of the adherents of communism after World War II. From higher education to Hollywood, dilettantes on the left embraced Marxism with little real understanding of the philosophy or its implications.

We are now seeing the rise of a new generation of armchair revolutionaries who are calling for everything from the overthrow of the U.S. government to the seizure of factories and homes.

Democratic New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani personifies this new movement of young people lacking any memory of the failure of socialist and communist systems in the 20th Century.

Mamdani is perfect for trust-fund baby Trotskyites. The privileged son of a radical Columbia professor and a Hollywood producer, Mamdani went to the elite Bowdoin College, which charges over $70,000 annually in tuition. He is part of the “radical chic” of American higher education, where extreme views are fully mainstream.

Mamdani shows the appeal of mouthing Marxist manifestos as manifest truths. It is Marxism-lite — promises of everything from rent control to making “Halal eight bucks again.”

Remember when the democratic power brokers were ecstatic to remove even one squad member? What they fail to realize is just how far left the party has turned.

Good timing..............

Those Marxist Democrats

https://issuesinsights.com/2025/07/10/those-marxist-democrats/

What will the Democratic Party’s 2028 platform look like? The way things are going, no one should be surprised if it looks like a manifesto written by a couple of bitter, revolutionary 19th century Germans.

Marxism is no longer on the Democratic Party fringe. It is taking it over.

We see this in the unpleasantness of Zohran Mamdani, the recent winner of the New York City mayoral primary.

The callow Mamdani describes himself as a “Democratic Socialist.” Fact-checkers, who seem to never fact check the incessant claims by the media and Democratic politicians and operatives that President Donald Trump and other Republicans are fascists, say he’s no communist.

While he might not be a card-carrying member of the Communist Party, several of his known positions are inarguably in line with Marxism.

Like Karl Marx, the privileged Mamdani, who calls himself a “BMW Bolshevik,” sees the world through the lens of class struggle. The platform of the Democratic Socialists of America, of which he is a member, “fights” for “the abolition of capitalism” as well as the “social ownership of all major industry and infrastructure,” two Marxist principles that Mamdani supports.

Mamdani is also promising “free stuff” for New Yorkers, from bus trips to child care; proposes to freeze rents (to stick it to those greedy capitalist landlords, no doubt); wishes to “shift the tax burden … to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods“; and says there should be no billionaires, though he hasn’t said what he’d do with the 123 who live New York City.

There has been some light pushback from within the party. A few Jewish Democrats in Congress have been “raising concerns about” him, says The Hill. But many in the party are aligning themselves with Mamdani, even Bill Clinton, whose “third way” policies melded ideas from both the left and right, and by today’s standards was an ultra-conservative Democrat.

Every lib on here would vote for this guy if they lived in NYC. Not one has said a word against this guy representing their party. Let that sink in. They might as well be called the Socialist/Communist party at this point.

The good thing is in reality, barely anyone voted for him since turnout was so low.

Bad thing is, it's still a blue city who would ignorantly vote for the worst democrat before the best of any other party.

Folks better take this seriously. There's a strong chance the votes could be split in the election, and this clown wins.

Have y'all seen his father's book justifying suicide bombings. Democrats are supporting this guy. If Cuomo enters, this is a real threat of happening.

The No (Intellectual) Growth Party

Why the Democrats Stagnate

https://josephklein.substack.com/p/the-no-intellectual-growth-party

You know, there’s no candidate in this party that I agree 100% of the time with, to be honest with you. There’s things that I don’t agree with Mamdani that he said.

But at the end of the day, I always believe, as a Democratic Party chair in Minnesota for the last 14 years, and now the chair of the DNC, that you win through addition. You win by bringing people into your coalition. We have conservative Democrats. We have centrist Democrats. We have labor progressives like me. And we have this new brand of Democrat, which is the leftist.

Ken Martin, the Democratic Party Chair

To which I say, yeeesh. In an interview with the PBS News Hour, Martin went on to say that he wanted a big tent party. I do, too. Just no lefties. They are not a “new brand” but the same old soreheads. Especially dilettantes like Zohran Mamdani. My big tent is closed to QAnon, Proud Boys…and to the Democratic Socialists of America. But the Dems are wobbly on Mamdani. Where the hell are you, Chuck Schumer? Indeed, they are wobbly on America: 90% of Republicans describe themselves as patriots; about a third of Democrats do. It is hard to win elections when you hate your country.

Hakeem Jeffries will accept Zohran if he says he will protect New York City’s Jews. Boy, is that a tough test! Walking away from “global intifada” should have been a no-brainer—you must read Bret Stephens on what intifada actually meant in his Jerusalem neighborhood—but Zohran couldn’t do it. Just as Kamala Harris couldn’t step back from teaching pre-pubescent children about sexual fluidity (or paying for sex change operations for prisoners). Just as Joe Biden couldn’t close the southern border, until he could. Just as the biggest, but not smartest teachers union, the National Education Association, just passed an anti-Israel resolution at its national convention. Just as the fact that a group called the Democratic Socialists of America even exists, spawning atrocities like Mamdani.

The Democratic Socialists are the Proud Boys of the Democratic Party. Indeed, the Democratic left has more in common with the Republican right than it does with the Sanity Caucus. Leftism is a form of infantilism. It is based on an obvious falsehood: that government functionaries—and there are a smattering of brilliant ones, but not a critical mass—know more than the free market. It is a rebellion that you play with when you’re young, when you have idealism but no experience. I toyed with it, mildly, as a kid. That ended when I covered busing in Boston and couldn’t find any black parents in favor of it. Oh, some black “Activists” were pushing for it, and a great many white liberals, but they didn’t have skin in the game. I remained a populist for a while; I hung with Ralph Nader, who had some good ideas and many terrible ones. He admitted to me he was a socialist. It made a lot of sense if you had no sense of how things actually work: I mean, if you cut out the profit motive—if you establish state-run grocery stores—you can make everything cost less. You can believe the “logic” of that if you don’t understand the entrepreneurial intelligence and creativity of competition. You can believe that state-run grocery stores will be better than family-run grocery stores where everyone—yes, including the children—work their butts off to produce the best product.

Democratic fence-sitters had better dump Mamdani before it’s too late

It is too late already... lol.... The lunatics have taken over the asylum.

https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/5402059-new-york-city-rent-policy-disaster/

In Stockholm, Sweden, the average wait time to rent an apartment is almost 10 years.

New York City could be headed down this road if Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani delivers on his promise to freeze rents on the city’s 1 million rent-stabilized apartments.

Government rent controls fail because they reduce housing supply and worsen affordability. This is one of the “best understood” and “least controversial” conclusions among economists, according to Nobel Prize-winner Paul Krugman.

A noted Swedish economist had a more colorful take, describing his country’s rent control system as “the most efficient technique presently known to destroy a city — except for bombing.”

Mamdani’s embrace of provably awful policy highlights the irony of his campaign: This charismatic new candidate is running on old ideas that fail everywhere they are tried.

If he wins in November and implements even half of what he is running on, he will be the anchor that sinks New York City and the national electoral fortunes of Democrats. Anyone with influence and a spine within the Democratic Party should react accordingly.

To understand why, look no further than San Francisco. Voters there have now dumped its ultra-progressive mayor, district attorney, and much of its city council after years of growing disorder and homelessness chased out both residents and tax revenue.

Or consider Chicago, where Mayor Brandon Johnson’s proposed property tax hike was rejected 50-0 by a progressive city council. He has the lowest approval rating in Chicago mayoral history, but Chicagoans are stuck with him until 2027.
