I have interacted with Bama fans and like them. Clemson fans are the worst. When OSU was playing Clemson they were arguing whether Clemson would beat OSU by 30 or 40 points.Retiring to the desert six years ago, I've had pretty good experiences with the fans from the former Pac12. ASU and even more recently with USC, both provide an hospitable environments. I am keeping a wary eye on Oregon, though. They really want to be liked are are somewhat delusional. Bama fans are also great. They win a lot of nattys, are proud of them, and are not arrogant.
At the other end of the spectrum, it's fanbases that haven't won a championship in decades but are still supet arrogant. There are a few and I'm not naming names here. Then there are the angry fanbases.
Yea. It's hard to get a handle on it all. Maybe out west, CFB is not as important. In the south, Bama fans are comfortable with their team's place in history. I would have never guessed that about Clemson though.I have interacted with Bama fans and like them. Clemson fans are the worst. Self-identified or otherwise, Pitt fans will be banned on sight here. Kidding. But I was thinking of calling this site '48-14'. Pitt and Notre Dame were always the worst back in the day. Notre Dame is competitive again, so you're seeing more of them. I find some of the mid-tier SEC team fans annoying (anyone not Alabama, Georgia, or LSU). Michigan's fan base is annoying due to their general sense of entitlement and self-righteousness. Iowa fans I've met are generally OK, but some of their fans are the worst about Sandusky. In the spirit of 76, Happy 4th! To help set off some fireworks, a scientific poll...
Which CFB fanbases, other than PSU's of course, have you experienced as being the most chill and which ones do you see as having the most "issues"?
The 48-14 name would be great. But probably best to save that for targeted uses.Self-identified or otherwise, Pitt fans will be banned on sight here. Kidding. And Pitt told you that you needed more than a GED to get in! But I bet Allegheny CC took care of you>>>LMAONotre Dame and Pitt were always cheats, going back to the 1910s and '20s. PiT is nothing more than a glorified junior college.
I totally agree with you on the WVU fans. I've been to Morgantown 3 times, including the Major Harris game and also last year with the 2.5 hour halftime storm delay. They absolutely hate Pitt, but there's a respect at least for PSU. I know some Pitt fans that say they literally wake up every day feeling hatred for PSU and no doubt want to see a PSU loss versus a Pitt win. It's really a sickness. For many years, up until around 2005, I worked with many, many WVU fans. They were all reasonable fan why mostly respected PSU. On the other hand they pretty much had no respect for Pitt. I went to WVU games (non PSU) with a WVU alum going back to 1978. Their fans are passionate, and they have their share of drunkin fans that get pretty rowdy, but I always had a good time. I took an ardent WVU fan to a PSU game in the 1980's and I remember him saying during halftime of a PSU blowout "this can't even be fun for you....", which in hind sight seems pretty funny. But as a WVU fan he just wanted to see a competitive game. Just like I would want in going to an away PSU game. Also went to a PSU/WVU game at WVU and had a nice time, even with their passionate fans.
Pitt fans on the other hand say some pretty stupid and disrespectful things, 99 percent of which are false. Pitt graduates doctors and dentist that must have some inteligence, but either I haven't talked to them or else only the stupid Pitt grads talk up as fans.......
