Yea. I don't get the whole 6'5" pro-style QB thing for CFB. That requires a pro OL and pro receivers to make it work, IMO. The McSorley, Clifford, and Pribula style is my preference. It can make up for the weaknesses inherent to a CFB roster. Troy Huhn looks to have the arm and the savvy, but he may be an Allar knock-off. Time will tell.

you may be right but McS and Clifford didn't sniff a playoff with the only exception being Saquon's Jr. year (B1G championship) and he is a once-in-a-lifetime RB. The team last year played in the semi-finals and lost because of one bad pass plus a CB falling down.
BTW, Jaden Greathouse, who had 7 receptions, 105 yards and a TD against us for ND, hasn't caught a pass yet this season.
There wasn't the 12-game play-off back then and those teams had more weaknesses than this year's. Not having QB mobility is a missing weapon, just as it was in that same ND game.

I agree, but we weren't winning any natties. We lost to Pitt and Michigan, then lost the bowl game to USC. That was probably our best year. The following year, 2017, maybe the year after, when we lost to both tOSU and Michigan State, then beat Wiscy in the B1G and Washington in the Bowl. That team also had DaeSean Hamilton, Saeed Blaknall, DeAndre Thomkins, and Mike Gesicki. I don't think either one of those teams would have been in the top four in the nation.

I'm as disappointed as anyone about what seems like the lack of physicality and creativitym, as well as the pretty much pathetic run game, the team has shown thru 2 games. But some of it (I hope) can be attributed to the coordinators working on the plays they will use vs Oregon and not using them in the OOC games...... Again, I hope that's a good bit of it.......

I don't know if he posts these anywhere else, but Adam Breneman breaks down 4 or 5 plays very quickly from FIU game that could have been big gainers if we just block a little cleaner.

Gregg, for me I can understand the lack of creativity in these games trying to acclimate the new WRs, so a little more base offense. What concerns me, like you, is the lack of physical dominance and cohesiveness with his OL that is essentially the same as last season. Also Allars continuation of "mechanics" issues and low QBR. He certainly has plenty of time to dedicate to his position work since he is only taking one class.

With that said, does Coach Andy overthink things and is the OL thinking about the intricacies of positioning instead of just driving players off the LOS? Just putting it out there.

The truth is that regardless if FIU has a few decent players, overall it is FIU, not FSU, and it should have been 34-0 at the half. I am truly concerned with Allar, Singleton, and the entire OL. Rather than using their God-given elite abilities, they were all confused out there for much of both games. That is on the coaches. If we do not put 500+ yards and 50+ on Nova, this is a 9-3 team.

I remember Kerry Collins only had one class during the season in 94 and as we know was completely locked in....l had hoped that Drew would start this season in a similar manner. But as you mentioned it s the same old song and dance with him.
Could be the result of big money and big media attention. True professionals overcome these distractions.
