Game Day Parking Reco

I am most likely attending the Oregon White Out game. I will be arriving with a friend to SC around 1:30pm that day. Where is there a good place to park? We are willing to walk a distance, even like 2 or 3 miles (maybe more) from the stadium. Would there be any street parking available in neighborhoods that is free?

Open to any and all recommendations.Thank you.

I'd park behind the shops in Hills Plaza off of S. Atherton and pay $2.50 each way this year to ride the CATA bus in. If you are tailgating then buy a football parking pass but if it's just 2 people, the CATA is the way to go. It is cheap and it gets you into and back from the game much faster as it doesn't get slowed down by gameday traffic. It will drop you off at the Bryce Jordan center and you pick it up there after the game. https://catabus.com/wp-content/uploads/Game-Day-Shuttle-Brochure-2025.pdf.pdf

One time we parked downtown @ a church on East Beaver Avenue. It was either a Lutheran or Presbyterian church. That was two years ago. Cost was between $20-$30 dollars. We then took the CATA bus to the Bryce Jordan Center by the Beav. Got there early, spent time in town, then hopped on CATA 2 hrs before kickoff. Not sure if the church still allows parking. I know it was secure.

What is behind the shops at Hills Plaza. Is that just neighborhood street parking?

Just a little extra parking area. It is sufficient but you could also park on the streets. I've never had to when taking the CATA in. If it's just me and one or 2 buddies, we do this. If we are planning on tailgating, we use the stadium parking.

Regarding the Hills parking and bus, a few points to consider
  1. The Hills area is the first area. When you get on the bus, it will be empty. It makes several stops and picks up more people. It takes about half an hour or more. But the police clear a lane for it so it doesn't get caught up in traffic.
After the game, the last bus leaves an hour after the final gun. So you can't really doddle if you stay for the entire game. At the same time, there is typically a line to get onto the bus. My experience has not been bad, as the buses are lined up and ready to go. I've waited, maybe, 15 minutes before boarding. Point is, if you want to linger, tailgate, visit, or just take it in, you won't have time.

Having said that, over an hour after buses leave, Ubers are typically available. So you can just get an Uber to the plaza if needed. Kids and seniors are free.

Thank you for that information. We may want to linger and hang around after the game if we win so good to know the last bus leaves an hour after the game ends.

You’re welcome to park at/in front of my house if you’d like. I live in Lemont about a 2 mile walk to the stadium. DM and I’ll send you my address and you can see if it works.

Can you ride bikes to the games and lock them up someplace near the stadium?

Thank you. We might take you up on your offer. I will let you know. Are you attending the game?
