How many players will PSU have in 2026?

This is only a guess, but an educated one, I do think that the last couple roster spots are ones that are specifically saved for the positions you’ve mentioned. I think the portal will sort itself out a little bit more in the next couple days and the staff will find a way to get One or two more guys who may be a little lower down their original choice list, but will be depth guys
Doesn't the portal close today?

2026 depth chart:

QB: Becht
RB: Martin, Hansen, Peoples
TE: Rapp, Brahmer
OL: Donkoh, Cousins, Onoh, Rulli, Buhr
WR: Howard, Sowell, Eskilden

DE: Granville, Kemajou,
DT: Blanding, Williams, Andrew's
LB: Rojas, Tasch, Breznia, Bacon
DB: Neal, Collins, Dixon, Tracy, Collins

Sounds like 9-3 to me. Several seniors so we'll be starting from scratch in 2027.

It is closed but still 3000 or so in it
Entry into the portal is closed. But the players that have signed for the portal and are still without a team can keep trying to find a team.

For example, at DE where PSU's roster seems a little light, 2 of the top 3 rated DE's in the portal haven't made a decision on their destination per 247. I wouldn't expect either to come to PSU as they are likely looking for mega-bucks, but there are still players out there that could help PSU. There are 2 DE's, one from UM and the other from Baylor, that are rated .91 as transfers that seem available as well, but they most likely want starting spots which there would be serious competition for at PSU. So I'm more so looking for Campbell to bring in a cheaper DE with upside and multiple years of eligibility that will be satisfied to compete for a spot in the rotation as he starts out at PSU.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of the rules. Good to know.

Can Indy & Miami players still enter?
It doesn't seem so. Isn't that why Pribula left last season when he did?

There could be a player that declared for the portal but played in a playoff game for their 2025 team. Anyone know if this happened? We do know of a player that went into the portal and is playing on their new team already during the playoff, as there is one doing so in the final.

Major incentive for schools to make the championship game. Starter and quality depth likely will not want to enter the portal while their team is in a championship game.

Likely short lived as the NCAA will have to do somthing about the current issues with the schedule for the playoff games and the transfer portal.

Let's hope so.
This ESPN article says that IU and Miami players have until next week to enter the portal.

"There's no deadline for making a decision on where they're going next. Players at Indiana and Miami will have an opportunity to transfer next week after the College Football Playoff National Championship. But for everyone else, the chance to make a move is over."

Wow, thanks
