That's not a bad idea - limiting posts per day or thread. Not sure if I'll do any type of limiting or not. We only seem to have a couple of posters who have a low signal-to-noise ratio. I don't want to mess up game day posting, for sure. One thing I'm thinking of doing for game day is having a sub-forum for each game. You want 100+ topics under that sub-forum, go for it. I may move some topics off the main football board to the sub if they just seem germane to that week's game. What I want to avoid as much as possible following games are meltdown posts, especially regarding coaches or individual players. For players, especially. I have no problem with fair criticism, but I want everyone to think whether they would say what they're posting if the player and his parents were known to be reading it.Sounds complicated to do.
Maybe just limit people to a certain number per day. Say 15-20? Or 10–15 per thread. That should be plenty to get your point across and stop the relentless and childish back n forth that ruins so many threads. And would make more judicious in their content
If possible, allow unlimited posts on a game day thread. Or a couple few threads. Maybe even allow unlimited on Mondays for game post mortems.![]()
