I think it’s reasonable to think Notre Dame will lose 1 more game, and they would miss the playoffs. I also believe either Alabama or Georgia, or both, have 3 losses by the end of the regular season . It’s possible the SEC gets 5 teams, but IMO, is extremely unlikely.—-A lot of football to play

Notre Dame has no ranked opponents left on their schedule. It would take a pretty big upset to knock them out.

Alabama only has one top 10 team remaining on their schedule (Oklahoma) but they do play a couple of decent teams.

Notre Dame plays USC. In my view, that’s a “toss up” game. Alabama plays Vandy, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma ( all ranked) and Auburn, who is solid….and a rival

USC just lost to ILL. I'd love to see them beat ND but I think it's unlikely.

Probably true, but my dislike for Notre Dame makes me optimistic for USC
