Knowles

"He defenses are so complex, that they takes years to learn." Okay. How so?
I don't know but this is what I've seen:
  1. Knowles likes to play just 2 LBs. If somebody goes into motion Deluca follows them which leaves Campbell all alone in the middle of the field. We also blitz a lot which leaves the middle wide open. IMO that's why we've given up so many QB scrambles on 3rd and long.
The DBs have underperformed. Harris was great last year but now he's getting beat somewhat regularly. I have no explanation. The safeties look totally confused about their assignments.

From a personnel standpoint we really miss Carter/Reed/Kimber from last year. Rojas injury was one we couldn't afford given how weak we already were at LB.

Most of us have been around forever and have watched thousands of hours of football. Some have played high school ball, maybe played college ball, and maybe coached. There are some nuances to the game, but it really isn't rocket science. When we see the team depleted at DL, LB, and WR before the start of the season, and have concerns about QB mechanics, vision, and composure, I would say that those obvious things are not imaginary. So, continue to take what coaches and pundits say with a grain of salt and believe in your own instincts because, more than likely, they are correct.

I disagree about WR. It should be obvious by now that PSU's passing problems go a lot deeper than the WRs. KLS & Harrison Wallace did quite well after they transferred. Pena had almost 1,000 yds receiving last year and was 2nd team all ACC.
