From the "experts", no doubt.

Our recruits did not leave for $. They have no faith in the future of the program. Firing the HC without a clear replacement in mind set the program adrift. Kraft made a terrible mistake
It will take a lot of portal $ to correct it. Where is that $ coming from? If Smith was the answer as HC, recruits would still be here.
There are a lot of teams with interim coaches. Ours is the only one bleeding recruits.
We went from the pent house to the outhouse in college football. But, we still are.
Hire Smith. That will save recruits as very few committed elsewhere, just opened because of turmoil.

He recruited most of them. He stays, they stay. Plus all players that played under him for over a decade will recruit for him like crazy. Lots of current NFL players will be singing arias to him across the country.

Both current and past players will also do the same for portal transfers. No one else will get that support.

I agree. 20 of his kids played in the NFL. If he can teach other coaches how to develop players, he is a no brainer. It is a money game. He loves the game and he loves Penn State
