Lions at the NFL combine

Thought I read a while ago that Allar won't work out much if at all due to still recovering from his injury. Broken ankle??

Well, he had surgery in Mid October and the combine begins 2/22. So that that is ~ four months. (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb.) My bet is that he would not be 100%. He may throw, to show off his arm strength but I doubt he'd do much of anything else. Last year, PSU's pro day was the last few days of March so we may see more physical activity from him with another month of rehab and recovery.

It is an indication of underperformance. It's actually bad thing when a team has a ton of NFL talent and can't win more games. It reminds of FSU all those years. Tons of talent and not much to show for it. We will be much better with less talent this year.
And it's the little things like underthrowing what would have been a short, easy pass to Singleton for a TD against ND. Or forcing a throw into a crowd, or locking on to one receiver, or throwing short of the first down marker only to punt to Indiana, etc.

And undisciplined things like a celebration penalty that extends a drive. These guys were out for themselves last year. They had read their press clippings and thought they were owed the wins.

Kiper has Allar ranked fourth behind Mendoza, Simpson (AL), and Ole Miss' Chambliss. He, and all the others say the same stuff. Great physical tools, strong arm, good movement for his size, and experience. Negatives include footwork, accuracy and decision making. Most consider him second or third round.

I've been told, and read, that teams interested at this point at the Colts and Steelers. I have a souce in Pittsburgh who told me that if PSU had made the playoffs and Allar stayed healthy, he'd have not made it past the Steelers pick in the first round (if he was there). I haven't spoken to him about Allar recently. The Colts would love to pair him with Warren again and need a QB moving forward.
