There is a narrative out there that a number of the Cowboys had become irritated with Parsons over the past several years due to his podcast and ego. He did criticize several of the players, and some of his comments were viewed as being directed at Prescott. It doesn’t appear there is much of a friendship between Parsons and Prescott. Some people think the Cowboys would have handled things differently and wrapped him up quicker like they did other potential free agents, including Prescott, if they really wanted to keep him.
