Muchigan fires HC Moore for cause

And we thought our options were dwindling? Maybe Michigan should have acted sooner not just because they knew what Moore was up to but also because they may have had some better options had they done so.

What is interesting to me is what coach would take this position when the investigation is still ongoing. You’d have to be nuts. So if the investigation takes a few months, that could be very damaging to the program. But if you are a guy like DeBoer or any other top candidate, why would you stick your head into the lion’s mouth right now? And how could UM name someone HC that is already part of the program until this is completed? What a mess.
And it couldn't happen to a nicer group of fella's.....

It would seem that about the only qualified candidate that would step into this $hit would be another "Michigan Man". But are there any of them out there that are really qualified?

PSU should be pursuing any players that m8ght consider transferring to us and woukd address needs on the roster. .Michigan could be im a very bad place if they do not get a coach before the portal opens.

If they cannot make a big name hire it may lead to more transfers.

In the off chance that the NCAA takes significant actions, they could lose many players.

Plus, if they transfer in conference, they still get to hate Ohio St. Perhaps if enough of them transfer to PSU, Indiana, and Oregon, they can get back to beating Ohio St again.

He also broke down and cried in February when he walked in a room and heard coaches talking poorly about a recruit he was high on. Reports also say he hadn’t spoken to his coaches in three weeks before the meltdown. Can you imagine?

What's so confusing about this whole thing is how he got investigated and the school decided nothing he did broke their rules.

Like, maybe they need to write better contracts if they felt they couldn't fire him for sexting random women during halftime of games.

It took one of his employees getting pregnant for them to fire him.

IMO the school was afraid to fire him.

I think the first investigation was nothing more than asking them if they were having an affair. When they said no, the investigation was over. They were going to cover it up and move on. The situation got our of control and they were forced to take action. The Michigan athletic department is out of control. 15 years ago this would result in significant sanctions. Now I bet nothing happens

Completely agree. But again, that means they were afraid to fire him.

My son saw that as well when we were out shopping this afternoon. He's 66 years old so this can't be a real long term solution, it would seem. He's a BYU grad so getting him to come to to a $hit hole like Michigan must have taken money, "A whole lot of spending money,...."

Word is 8.1M per year. So reasonable based upon the ridiculous salaries paid to these chumps these days

I laughed when I read a sports writer said that UM was lucky and fell upwards. They did get a great coach, now do things just go forward like nothing happened? Will people lose their jobs over this?

This is the new event in the news cycle. They will let the rest die out and act like nothing happened.
