NIL and the commitment and decommitment of Legend Bay

LB was expected to commit to Ohio State on signing Day and Ohio State regalia surrounded him at his signing table. Then he supposedly signed with Tennessee. However, some people feel that his family forged his signature. He was only 17 on signing Day and he just turned 18. Having turned 18 he has rejected Tennessee and signed with Ohio state. It appears that the family tried to pressure him to sign with Tennessee because the family got a better deal out than it did out of Ohio state. This shows a potential complicated factor of NIL. Here is an article that describes some of the situation. https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio...ent-with-tennessee-could-sign-with-ohio-state

How much did your Buckeyes offer PSU DE Coleman and do you think it was right to tamper with our roster DURING the season? There is video evidence of this that was broadcast nationally after our game at your stadium. Should Ohio St be sanctioned? Tampering with rosters of conference foes during the season is worse than Michigan's cheating scandal and could bring federal charges as it impacts the betting markets.

If it was a violation and was on TV it was an open and shut case. Why didn't Penn State pursue it and at least get nominal damages or embarass Ohio State. (Assuming that Ohio State is some sort of privilege d institution in this matter.). You are really stretching things to claim some sort of federal crime could have occurred, but if you are serious about it I would suggest that you contact the department of Justice and file a complaint.

So you watched it occur on national TV and now he's transferring to Ohio St and you think that is just a coincidence? No harm no foul? You've been a reasonable poster in many regards, but you have a major blind spot. Tampering with conference foes on the field during or immediately after competition has the potential to unravel the sport.

Two things. 1. All I remember was two or three light-hearted sentences as he was going off the field. 2. I haven't seen where he is transferring to Ohio State but if he did it would be no big surprise because he is from Ohio and because Penn State has a new coach.

Light-hearted? Hilarious. He talks with Ohio St staff and then PSU doesn't see him in action for a month and he ends up in the portal with the worst kept secret of Ohio St being the destination.

I would not want a player on my team that was "forced" to bed there. That aside, this is a crazy situation and i suspect more and more crazy stuff will continue to happen with the current set of rules.
