Yeah, he didn't play well...and that's an understatement. Came around a bit in the 4th quarter but even then made a terrible throw to kill their last-chance drive.

On the other hand, the hype going in was, as often happens in these cases, ridiculously over the top for a guy who had only started two games and both of them against inferior competition.

Also, he's far from the only highly-recruited QB to have a less than stellar performance against that D in that stadium. Ahem. No names mentioned.

In sum, I think it's silly to write the book on Manning at this early point based on one performance against a top-10 team. He's going to have plenty of chances to redeem himself this year.

Mel Kiper and Field Yost I think is his name are still totally on board the Manning hype train. They think all the issues are fixable. Kiper Jr does not see him going to the NFL until the '27 draft.

The issue here is the last name. If he had any other last name, Sark might have pulled him. Remember, Sark pulled Ewers vs UGA last year. No spark was provided. Ewers returned in 2 series I believe.

Arch is probably a good QB, but his limited tape says very little. He's more of a Riley Leonard type. His game doesn't resemble his Uncles.
