What if the Lions stop paying salaries to men's and women's basketball. Players could get NIL, but the Lions would quit wasting money on a sport that has very little student support and a long history of terrible results.
There is zero hope without a financial Rabbi like Pegula was for hockey.
Imagine. Their best success in 70 years was the Carver
Clinton and Ray Saunders team in the 60s.
Use the $ for sports like women's volleyball and wrestling that students actually attend.
Maybe we could be the Indiana of college basketball with loads of $, but the status quo is absolutely HOPELESS.
