Should he really have to tell the players that this is for your consumption only? Whoever it was that recorded him without his consent and posting it to damage our coaching search needs to immediately clean out their lockers.

Agreed, but kids today, you know it's going to happen.
 
Wow, Kraft may have driven more players away with this fiasco of a meeting. And I gotta believe that any parent of a current PSU player that listens to this will be advising their son to get out of the cespool that is Kraft's athletic department.

The PSU BOT fired Paterno for nothing. He did nothing wrong. They should convene and get rid of this bozo. I believe a majority of PSU grads would find his conduct in the player meeting unprofessional as well as embarassing to PSU.

I'm a little uncomfortable with this being here because of this. I'm leaving the thread alone unless someone complains.

On the one hand, it seems pretty inappropriate to be talking with young men like this. On the other hand, Kraft is a former Big Ten linebacker. This sounds like the type of bluster you might hear from someone like that behind closed doors if you were an old friend. I don't have a problem with some of the talk about other teams. He clearly wants to win. I have a problem with him telling them that Terry was a real candidate when it seems pretty clear that Kraft had little to no intention of hiring him.

Ever listen to young kids talk? Ever listen to rap music? I don’t like it but sadly that is common language now

Pat was trying to rally the team, a team that is shell shocked and questioning the team’s future and their future on it . Keep players on the team. Convince they still are good enough to beat Oregon or Ohio State.

He was seriously listening to their concerns and seeking input. Agreeing on program shortcomings and needed emphasis.

He wasn’t great but he wasn’t as bad as done are saying

What was interesting is the players themselves were saying we need to do a better job developing players. Hinted that certain positions are weak. Pretty solid criticism of Franklin and staff without naming names.

Also said some young kids should have gotten more playing time. A couple said we see them in practice and see what they can do. Another slam. But this is also common on teams……there are always question as to why some get playing time while others don’t.

Glad he let them talk instead of just preaching greatness.

Now we need a leaked recording of the new coach!

Campbell seems like the type of coach that values leadership within his locker room. I'm betting he'll identify the leaders pretty quickly, and as he does some of those that were the problems in the locker room will also be identified and be former PSU football players..

He could act professionally and not rely on players and certain goober, lapdog fans to have his back 🙄
 
There is a new audio out, I haven’t listened to it. However, that you can hear Drew’s voice way more clearly than anyone else in the room. The speculation is that it is his phone recording and that has led to speculation that he is the one leaking it. Perhaps his agent in trying to deflect some of the early season failures onto the team/coach and away from Allar. My personal opinion is that it is not Allar as I feel like he falls into the “too nice of a guy” category. In other words, he hasn’t had to aggressive personality a top QB needs at this level. Again, all idol speculation and rumor but interesting. Somebody is leaking it and doing so based on some kind of agenda. And that somebody is high enough in the program to have been invited to such a sensitive meeting.

Exactly. Kraft should be fired and replaced ASAP. He is not the type of leader to be the PSU Athletic Director. Actually, he doesn't seem like a leader at all.

My hope is that the BOT puts pressure on the Pres to find the next PSU AD before Kraft is fired to the replacement happens quickly and blows over with the minimum of publicity. i.e. the way the replacement of Franklin should have been handled if PSU had had a competent AD........

Well, you are from Pittsburgh. I'm not surprised that you agree with that Pitt fan trying to stir $hit up AFTER we already have a great hire and great momentum.

Does the fact that I believe the unprofessional recent conduct by Kraft and his bumbling of the firing of Franklin and the search for his replacement have anything to do with me living in Pittsburgh for my 70 years on earth other than the 4 I spent at state college?

I'll help you out. It does not. Oh, and I couldn't care less what pitt fans have to say about any of it and if you are really a PSU fan you shouldn't either.

Kraft has shown throughout this whole ordeal that he isn't an all star AD and yes I believe he should be a former PSU AD due to the unprofessional way he addressed the football team. Other examples of his performance can be found by watching the PSU Women's basketball team. Putting up with their current level of play, the unathletic teams that Coach K fields year after year is on his resume as well.
