Does the fact that I believe the unprofessional recent conduct by Kraft and his bumbling of the firing of Franklin and the search for his replacement have anything to do with me living in Pittsburgh for my 70 years on earth other than the 4 I spent at state college?

I'll help you out. It does not. Oh, and I couldn't care less what pitt fans have to say about any of it and if you are really a PSU fan you shouldn't either.

Kraft has shown throughout this whole ordeal that he isn't an all star AD and yes I believe he should be a former PSU AD due to the unprofessional way he addressed the football team. Other examples of his performance can be found by watching the PSU Women's basketball team. Putting up with their current level of play, the unathletic teams that Coach K fields year after year is on his resume as well.

I was referencing the NEW poster who you had responded positively to but has ONLY showed up to stir $hit up while we have things beginning to come together. Look at the guy's short posting history. The only thing he has done is trash PSU. I know that you are a good poster. I was trying to rib you for buying into the troll's most recent push to trash PSU.

I didn't realize he was trolling, but I believe he is correct in his assessment of Kraft. I don't believe having the opinion that Kraft should be fired due to his performance and recent conduct is trashing PSU. I've been a PSU fan, football and otherwise, since my older brother went off to main campus in 1967, but that doesn't mean I agree with everything that goes on there. And I sure don't believe someone that addresses the football team the way Kraft did should be leading the PSU athletic dept as his continued poor judgement will likely inhibit things "coming together" as you referred to the current situation.

Defensive, micromanaging control freaks should never become bosses. They destroy cultures and performance. Yet, we've all experienced them.

My worst boss before I had retired was like that. He wasn't particularly smart, but he relied on strict positional authority. He was a control freak because he didn't want his weaknesses exposed. He was a real @$$hole to everyone in the organization underneath him and kiss @$$ to those above him.

What particularly sucked was that the guy who immediately preceded him was the exact opposite. The best that I had ever worked for in my career. He was the type that put his team in positions that would highlight their strengths in front of our Commanding General and then give them the credit. He also always supported the individual career goals of everyone on the team even if it meant losing some of our best and brightest. He knew that doing so would get 100% max effort from everyone and that the best wanted to join our team. Further, he was confident enough that he surrounded himself with technical expertise, gave them clear objectives, let them solve problems, develop systems, and lead and develop their teams. I still keep in touch with him today. Just a great all around guy that would go out of his way to help you even after we all moved on.
