If all the guys that played today stay, I think the defensive backfield is pretty good. I would also think that if they pick up anybody in that area, it will be the couple from Iowa State who are in the portal and played for Campbell last year.
Absolutely need defensive line and probably an offensive line guy, though I would like to see someone like Williams or the huge freshman tackle from Jersey they got this year, I can’t think of his name right now.
I wonder what went on with the other couple freshman receivers that never even saw the field in those early games. I would assume that they’ll be a couple running backs and three or four potential wide receivers who hit the portal tomorrow.

I believe two of those young WRs, Brown and Samuel battled injuries all season.

Other mysteries among the WR roster are Gonzalez, hurt as a true freshman in 2024 but MIA this season, Outten who was injured I believe but impressed early, and Exinor who enrolled late but never was heard from. Any of these could be break out candidates along with Howard in 2026.

I'm betting that Saunders, Black and Ivey are gone, but who knows.......

I believe Gonzalez was out with injuries again in 2025. Can't get healthy.

He's listed as a Junior in the article listing which doesn't go well with PSU's TE room.

Reynolds will be a Junior in 2026 and is a proven pass catcher and continues to develop as a blocker.

Rappleyea from what I've seen in the 2nd half of this season is headed towards all B10 in 2026. He's big, a strong blocker and has great hands. He could be the top TE coming out to the NFL after the 2026 season. If both Reynolds and Rappleyea stay a TE would seem to have to be a RS Freshman or soph in 2026 for it to make sense.
 
Campbell and Smith could practically fill out the 2027 class at OL and WR just from the top 15 in PA, in addition to the #1 overall RB Spell.
