Shemar Stewart left the Bengals without a contract

Doesn't the NFL have slot salaries for 1st round picks?

What's to cry about?

Hey, I'm hoping that the Bungles screw it up as best they can, but I don't see what this kid believes his leverage is.

and is reportedly practicing with TX A&M. Apparently, he can go back and play college ball for another year with the new rules. It is unclear if the Bengals retain his rights or not.

Brave new world out there.

Crazy town is now filtering into the NFL from college football. IMHO, this is arrogance on Stewart's part.
Any lawyers out there? Can the NFL do something to prevent this from happening again?

That's crazy. How does he re-enter the draft though, even if he can somehow return to A&M? (I'm still curious about this)

Wouldn't they have to release his rights? Even then, Wouldn't that make him a free agent?
Evolving but my understanding is that the bengals retain his rights unless they trade them. I really don’t think the collective bargaining agreement with the NFL anticipated this kind of situation. Previous to this the player had no rights whatsoever and could not go back to college. That has apparently recently changed.
