Texas flash flood kills 24...20 still missing at youth camp

Well there was that whole thing in CA about not clearing the brush, dried up reservoirs, slow emergency response times, high paid patronage officials, and permit hoops for rebuilding. IMHO, one side attacks the causes/incompetence, while and the other side attacks for political advantage.
Thank you for proving my point so quickly.

Let's not forget that Mayor Bass was gallivanting around in Ghana and didn't feel the need to return right away.

The Party of Empathy...

Democrats certainly have empathy for terrorists who raped, killed and burned 1300 Jewish people....

I have a bookmark folder on X called "Democrat hate."

When I think about it, I toss especially hateful posts into the folder as potential fodder for articles. I rarely dip into them unless some particularly prominent person utters some particularly hateful thing. Still, it is striking how many posts I find of Democrats wishing death or suffering on people for the crime of seeing things differently than they do.

What prompted me to dip into this well was the liberal reaction to the flash flood tragedy in Texas.

CA wildfires happen and a certain segment of our population goes all in on the political attacks. They criticize the state, generally. They criticize the people in the state, based on political affiliation. They criticize the response. "It could have and should have been avoided, and it's all the Dems' fault." They take great joy in this. The POTUS attacks the state, and they rally around the POTUS's criticism. They even wanted to withhold aid, or conditionally withhold aid, based on these political divisions.

To a man/woman, that segment of the population either took great joy in this, or sat silently while their compatriots reveled in it. They've repeated this at every natural disaster which could be twisted to somehow implicate someone of another political ideology.

Flash forward (no pun intended) to another tragic natural disaster ... these same folks act incredulous that someone could blame folks from the opposition political party/ideology.

"These people are DISGUSTING. This is just who they are! How could they criticize the response, or the actions that may have led to this?! Evil! Why I'd never ..."

But you did. You have. Many times. Gleefully. With joy and vengeance in your hearts. You will again. Some of you are so vapid, you don't even see the hypocrisy. Others of you are fully aware of it, but don't care ... thinking it's a game and all is fair and love and blame. You are those very same people.

Your entire premise and assumption is wrong. But you knew that.

One side takes delight in the suffering of others as in those Tweets compiled in Spanky's link and cited in the Sasha Stone piece that I posted.

If the other side did anything like that with regard to the Los Angeles fires or any other tragedy, I would be the first to condemn those responsible. We don't want people like that on our side.

But this is what the other side has become...and nobody on that side objects or says no, this is a line we won't cross.

The point being, on our side that kind of rottenness is the exception...the fringe. On their side, it's the rule...the mainstream.

The "other side" DID things like that ... in fact, they did these things, and worse, and no one on that side condemned those responsible. In fact, many of the board members on the "other side" were the ones responsible.

But, yeah, you can do a google search for words like "LA wildfires deserve" and then repeat that on twitter, and the examples of that behavior are nearly endless.

It's absolutely INSANE that our reality is the Department of Homeland Security ... a federal government entity for which our trust is paramount ... is tweeting inflammatory things like this. If a certain party has deliberately lied, and you're going to put them on blast, you need to specifically identify them, and point out the specific lie and how it's wrong. You can't throw out inflammatory overbroad and nebulous terms like "mainstream media." You can't just hurl accusations, without identifying the alleged harmful actions. They're not trying to hold people responsible for lies, they're trying to attack and harm an entire industry. I know that a certain segment of our population has been conditioned to think this type of behavior is not only acceptable, but to be encouraged (and to participate in these actions themselves), but this is at the core of the problems we face today.

I am OK with it. DHS has put out several comments on the events leading up to the disaster, but the media isn't publishing that informaiton. You actually have to watch the DHS briefings or Fox News. That's pretty much it. If DHS is correct, they have no choice but to go direct using X or other social media sites.
