They score on that drive. If it were UCLA or NW and not Bama, though, the result might have been different. How'd that turn out?

Meyer would be great to stop the bleeding and get the triage started. A two to three year contract. We're going after Urban Meyer and, unfortunately, Rhule. Kiffin would never fit here.
There's a lot, and I mean a lot of baggage with him. Supposedly, there's mutual interest.Meyer would be great to stop the bleeding and get the triage started. A two to three year contract.
Franklin does not deserve the nasty treatment he received as he left the field yesterday. While I agree it is probably time that he and PSU part ways, let’s not forget the positive things he has accomplished. He brought us out of the sanctions, he has upgraded the program in terms of facilities and player services, and he has managed his teams with class and discipline maintaining graduation rates and developing positive young men from immature teenagers. He has also had respectable success on the field up until this year. He never did get the program from good to great, but he has provided fans with hope, even though it never came to fruition.Penn State fans have every reason to cheer for Coach James Franklin, a leader who’s transformed the Nittany Lions into a college football powerhouse. Since taking the helm in 2014, Franklin’s passion, recruiting prowess, and strategic acumen have revitalized the program. His 88-39 record through 2023, including a 2016 Big Ten Championship and multiple New Year’s Six bowl appearances, showcases his ability to compete at the highest level. Franklin’s high-energy style and mantra, “Dominate the State,” resonate deeply with fans, fostering a culture of pride and resilience. His recruiting classes consistently rank among the nation’s best, bringing in talents like Saquon Barkley and Micah Parsons, who’ve elevated Penn State’s profile. Off the field, Franklin’s commitment to player development—academically and personally—earns him admiration. His community engagement, from THON fundraisers to local outreach, strengthens the bond between team and town. Despite occasional criticism over big-game losses, Franklin’s 4-2 bowl game record and consistent top-25 finishes prove his mettle. With a passionate fanbase filling Beaver Stadium’s 107,000 seats, cheering for Franklin feels like rallying behind a visionary who’s building a legacy. His relentless drive keeps Penn State roaring, making every game a celebration of Nittany Lion pride.

I believe it is for the best that his era ends, but he does not deserve the disrespect that was shown yesterday as he and his daughter left the field. It was shameful.
And let's not forget that he and his agent leveraged every opportunity that he was mentioned as a possible candidate for an opening to get raise/extension and upgrades to facilities. That is how we ended up with a 10 year contractFranklin does not deserve the nasty treatment he received as he left the field yesterday. Maybe I am being harsh, but a coach that makes the money he does should have thick enough skin to deal with getting booed. As far as his daughter, nobody should be saying derogatory things about her. I do not understand why she needs to be on the field like that. There are a lot of layers regarding my feelings about the university and it starts with my perceptions from the 70's. While I may have been young and naive, and a lot of crap was going on behind the scenes, it was a fun, simple, bucolic place. John Oswald's sig is on my first diploma from the place. Bryce Jordan was brought in I believe, because of his fundraising prowess. After that, it was about growth, and the money. Geisinger, executive campuses, hockey stick climate research, law schools, etc. Then the Sandusky story broke along with Penn State's panicked and ill-advised decisions. Surma's call to Joe. Repressed memories. Quick settlements. Second Mile quickly jettisoned. Lanny Davis? Really? BOT resigning or in hiding. Statue gone without notice. University rankings and SAT scores tanking. Tuition through the roof. Which leads me to how Franklin got extended. The point is that alums and older fans now have repressed memories. The school needs to come clean.
Regarding James Franklin. He's a good guy, but reached his level of incompetence. The booing should be aimed at the University and not him.
Wish Franklin had been alert enough to text his wife in the 4th quarter and tell her to get his family out of the stadium when the game was obviously on the line.
A few drunk fans can really misrepresent the fan base. I believe lots of fans, attending and otherwise, had had enough of Franklin as PSU's coach, but most are respectful enough to treat Franklin with some dignity. It's a shame that the poor behavior of a few will be a memory for Franklin. He is a decent man and a leader of young men that I believe had the respect and love of the vast majority of players that played for him at PSU which we should respect and value as PSU
The facility upgrades were needed. I don’t begrudge him for that. And let's not forget that he and his agent leveraged every opportunity that he was mentioned as a possible candidate for an opening to get raise/extension and upgrades to facilities. That is how we ended up with a 10 year contract
