The running back whisperer

Nothing to do with the RB coach. Go back and watch last years games. Huge holes to run through. Singleton needs the OL to open holes, he is not great at jump cuts, breaking tackles like Kaytron is. I believe Tyler's loss in the run blocking is missing also, watch the highlight runs of last year and Tyler was sometimes blocking 2 defenders, plus, last years wide receivers must have been better blockers.

Where is the swing passes, and wheel routes to Singleton that were there last year? They mentioned getting Singleton the ball in space recently so maybe we will see him catching more passes like last year.

Also, there is not deep threat like Tyler was. This years opposing defenses don't have any respect for the deep ball and are crowding the line of scrimmage IMO.

Something else, How much better would this team have been with Kaytron carrying the ball 20 times a game earlier this season?

The swing passes to Singleton now lose 4 yards because no one can block and when they do block a little Singleton with no burst runs into the blocker.

That is just a microcosm of the team, just about every facet has regressed.

Yeah, the swing passes require wide receivers, or tight ends blocking. We have new receivers and no Warren now.

Come on... there were huge holes this year too. Singleton just completely missed them.

You guys really need to get over this Singleton and holes thing. It's wrong. Singleton just isn't good. He wouldn't start at Villanova right now.

Watch hid 9 yard reception in the last series against NW. The dude got pwnd by the NW safety in the open field.

Another approach might be to look at S&C based on a player's natural ability and his position. I don't think bulking up a QB is a good idea, but maybe just go with flexibility and quickness programs. And offensive linemen should be on those arcade dance machines all day. Same with Nick Singleton. Heavy squats and bench presses might have taken him out of his freshmen form, and all he needed to do, based on his style, was to lift his knees to avoid getting ankle tackled. And everybody needs to run twenty-yard shuttles ...everyday.
