Fun idea. Love the Bar Name, btw. I wonder if Nardouchie will have a competing party? I fed Claude some ideas for what that might look like.....this wasn't too bad.
Pitt's Official NFL Draft Watch Party
Hosted by Coach Pat Narduzzi
Location: Narduzzi's unfinished basement (the half with the good lighting is being used for storage)
Menu:
- Lil' Smokies in a Crock-Pot that's been on "warm" since 2016
- Warm Natty Light in a cooler with no ice
- A vegetable tray from Giant Eagle — the one where all the ranch dip is already gone
- Pitt Blue Jell-O shots (they didn't set right)
Special Guests:
- Kenny Pickett's high school coach from Eastern High, who is still introduced as "the man who made Kenny what he is"
- A Pitt equipment manager who once handed Dan Marino a towel
- A guy named Dave who was a walk-on in 1987 and won't let you forget it
Entertainment:
- A slide show of every Pitt player who has been drafted under Narduzzi (takes about four minutes)
- Narduzzi reads aloud from his bowl game contract incentives, which have never been triggered
- Cornhole in the backyard, but one of the boards is warped
- A live countdown to the moment Penn State's first pick gets called while everyone pretends not to watch
Viewing Setup:
- 32-inch Vizio from 2011 with a slightly green tint
- The HDMI cable works if you don't touch it
- Narduzzi has the remote and will mute it during every Penn State mention, so expect a lot of silence
Parking:
- Street parking only. Narduzzi's wife has the driveway.
*Paid for by the Pitt Athletic Department's "Rivalry Events" budget — remaining balance after this event: $14. Suggested contribution for Pitt NIL fund - $48.14.
------
I gave it the idea of a Tini and Weenie party in Naruzzi's basement and made two edits - I added the under Narduzzi qualifier for the slide show line (because as much as we like to make fun of the state of the program, Pitt has had some great NFL players through the years), and the $48.14 suggested contribution.
