Thread for Iowa State commits and players following Campbell

Gook luck "making sure".

That what we have a coaching staff for. And why Franklin is at VT and Campbell is at PSU.
Grunk completed 69.4% of his passes. 7.5 yd average, 140.6 rtg.

Becht completed 60.5% of his passes, 7.6 yd average, 134.8 rtg.

I doubt those stats will be the basis of Campbell's decision on his next QB. Becht was injured this past season, and had a 150 average rating as a RS freshman.

I'm hoping that Grunk stays and hits the PSU S&C program hard and develops his ability to scramble for first downs and extend plays. It's the weakest part of his game now and together with his arm could make him a top college QB.

One of the problems we had with Franklin is he never developed a backup QB. There were times when the leading QB was kept in the game instead of handing the reins to the 2nd string and let him get game reps. We are lucky to have Grunk be able to pick up for Allar.

If Becht comes on to the team, all I want is a fair and balanced QB competition. Becht has no experience in the BIG. Grunk has played against the #1 and #2 teams in the country, with no experience. He did pretty good against them, especially Indiana. That should count for something. If we get into a situation where we have a bunch of favoritism for a player, we'll be back where we were before the chaos began.

I don’t think the staff trusted Grunk to throw in his first couple of games.

Some info and opinions on the 2026 PSU QB situations

ISU 2024 highlights. A lot to look at, particularly as it concerns offensive formations which will undoubtedly be similar to what PSU will be running in 2026.
