Lots of Sophomores on roster. I wonder who it could be?
Although he never made an impact this could be the start of departures from the program. Maybe a young WR like Koby Howard, Denmark, or Exinor who aren't being given opportunities might bolt?
Terry is not a quitter but his coordinators are doing this team no favors.Walking away mid season still defines a player as a quitter.
Schlaffer had 3 very good TE's ahead of him on the depth chart in Dinkins, Reynolds and Rappleyea so the odds of him playing much the remainder of the season were pretty slim. And with Reynolds and Rappleyea possibly coming back along with Olesh and two other freshmen TE's his future wasn't likely too bright had he stayed at PSU.
Some may look at this at first glance and categorize it as rats leaving a sinking ship. But there are many other reasons for players to leave, especially given what is likely some mixing up of roles and decision making among the coaches now that Terry Smith is trying to right the ship and make some changes to attempt to win a couple of games.
I'm rooting for Terry Smith to continue to settle into his temporary role and make some changes and have the team performing better in the remaining games, and I believe he is up to the task. Terry is not a quitter.
"Out West", is that PITT or some other team?He was buried on the depth chart. Going out West to play.
I'd assume Pit as I believe they were his #2 choice. As Greg mentioned above, this is more about him being buried on the depth chart. He is just getting his name out to transfer at the end of the semester"Out West", is that PITT or some other team?
Terry must be hands-on at this point. At least meet with both the AC & DC to determine if each understand the opponent and what they'll be doing to exploit its weaknesses.Terry is not a quitter but his coordinators are doing this team no favors.
Teams will continue to exploit the vulnerable two LBer defense and its evident Knowles is fixed on his scheme no matter the negative results. Ditto for Kotelnicki with his wasted trick plays and inability to scheme a downfield passing attack.Terry must be hands-on at this point. At this point no coaching changes will be made, why bother? Hopefully both Knowles and Kotelnicki are shown the door right after Rutgers.Teams will continue to exploit the vulnerable two LBer defense and its evident Knowles is fixed on his scheme no matter the negative results. Terry needs to demand change and if they won't comply, bench them and turn the game planning and play calling over to others no matter what they're being paid.
